Dr. John F. Farella is certified by the American Board of Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery - the only board recognized by the American Board of Medical Specialties to certify plastic surgeons. Dr. Farella specializes in cosmetic surgery, including facial rejuvenation and body contouring. He received his medical degree from New York Medical College. He completed his internship and residency in general surgery at Westchester County Medical Center in Valhalla , New York, where he was Chief Surgical Resident and received honors recognition by the Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Society. He continued his professional training at the University of Oklahoma College of Medicine in Oklahoma City, where he was Chief Resident in Plastic Surgery, and at Lenox Hill Hospital in Manhattan.

Dr. Farella is a Diplomate of the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic surgeons and the American Society for Aesthetic Plastic Surgery. He is a fellow of the American College of Surgeons and a member of the Westchester Society of Medicine, the American Medical Association and the Surgical Society of New York Medical College. He also is Assistant Clinical Professor of Plastic Surgery at New York Medical College. Although he performs most procedures in his own same-day surgery center, he is credentialed to provide surgery at local community hospitals.

Dr. Farella has received wide spread recognition for his participation in the international, philanthropic organization known as Healing the Children. Under his supervision and at his own expense, a professional surgical staff, along with Dr. Farella, personally performs reconstructive surgery for children in under developed countries.
