A common problem for women is torn earlobes. This occurs from wearing heavy earrings
or earrings which are pulled upon, causing the tear. Torn earlobes can be easily
repaired under local anesthesia as an office procedure. Sutures are removed in
two weeks, and ears may be re-pierced in eight weeks. It is recommended to avoid
heavy, and large dangling earrings to prevent recurrence.
